May through October is the prime exterior painting season in Toronto. Within that window, the sweet spot is late May to early September — when overnight temperatures consistently stay above 10°C.

Why Temperature Matters

Paint needs specific conditions to cure properly:
- Minimum application temp: 10°C (most premium paints)
- Ideal range: 15–25°C
- Humidity: Below 85%
- No rain within 4–6 hours of application

If paint is applied in too-cold conditions, it won't form a proper film. The result? Poor adhesion, cracking, and premature failure.

Book Early

Here's what most homeowners don't realise: the best painting crews are booked 4–6 weeks out during peak season. If you want a June or July start, book in April or May.
