Factors Considered In Our Drywall Repair Services

1 Assessing The Severity of Damage

We first inspect the area in need of drywall repair. Common damages are caused by removal of wall fixtures, moving furniture, water damage, absent door stopper, as well as age or weather. By assessing the drywall we are able to determine the cause and plan for the appropriate steps to successfully repair the damage.

2 Choosing The Right Materials

Our process continues with deciding the type of drywall compound, spackling, and sandpaper that will assist us in achieving a smooth, ready to paint.

Depending on the climate, budget, and findings from our assessment we determine what products to use. This is an important step in the process, often the correct material choices can reduce the time-line of a project.

3 Patching the Damaged Drywall

We begin with filling the dent, hole or crack with our choice of drywall compound. In the case that the damage is too large for the compound, we instead will cover the hole by using mesh and/or a new piece of drywall. Using our spreaders we smoothen out the compound while feathering out the edges to blend our patch with the wall.

4 Sanding and Finishing

The drying process for Drywall Compound can widely vary from 1 hour – 24 hours. Why? Often environmental factors such as humidity, and the time of year, affect the length of time it takes to dry. Once our Drywall Compound is ready, we then sand our patch, while using our hands to feel for when we have achieved a smooth finish. A successful Patch! – Multiple coats of drywall compound are sometimes needed for more excessive drywall repairs.
